Taking on a new puppy is a wonderful experience but can be quite daunting. Puppies learn very quickly with proper instruction. The first few weeks at home are extremely important for puppies followed by suitable socialisation and training. See below for all our training options.

Puppy Starter Sessions
To help you get off to the right start we offer sessions in the comfort of your own home. We cover crate and toilet training, feeding, teething and other issues such as stealing, jumping up and dealing with puppies and children.
Vaccination requirements mean many puppies miss out on essential socialisation during their first few weeks. During this initial period, puppies can develop undesirable behaviours.
Ideally, the session should be held within the first week of having your puppy. A new puppy starter session will last around 1 hour, and you will be issued a training programme to help you on your way to a happy puppy.
Home visits or training at a location of your choosing are available within a 15 mile radius of Central Bark postcode NE61 6AW (+50p per mile by arrangement)

Puppy Training and Socialisation classes
Puppy class
This class is for puppies who have had all of their vaccines up to 6 months old.
Puppy training and socialisation classes are designed to help produce well mannered, sociable young dogs. We provide a relaxed, stress free environment and teach you to cope in everyday situations not just in class.
Topics covered include responding to name, walking on the lead, coming when called and socialisation.
Each session is split into short training activities and motivational/desensitisation exercises. Central Bark allows for indoor and outdoor training meaning your puppy can gain some real life experiences as well as making new friends.
As it is important that the puppy is receiving the same training from each member of the family, we are happy for all to attend including children, providing they are under parental control.
Our puppy class is aimed at pups up to 6 months, after that we have a Puppy plus or Junior class which will be more suitable.
You will be invited to join a Whats-app group for your 6 week course to get support and video analysis or to just share your progress.

Puppy Plus
This class is for young dogs between 6-10 months. This is the next step up from Puppy class. This class is also suitable for puppies who are slightly older but haven't attended any classes yet.
If you are unsure of which class you need please get in touch and we can have a chat and advise.
The course is 6 weeks long with a 45-60 minutes class each week. You will be invited to join a Whats-app group for your 6 week course to get support and video analysis or to just share your progress.

Private Puppy Training

Private lessons are on a one-to-one basis and involve you, your pup and our trainer.

During the first assessment session we will discuss any questions you may have about your puppy, find out what you enjoy doing with your dog and what you would like to achieve. The lessons are then tailored accordingly.

These sessions will offer homework and a variety of tips and information so you can continue your training away from 'school' and into
a real life environment.

Working through various life skills such as walking nicely on a leash and coming back when called will help you to make a great start developing your puppy into a well balanced adult dog.
As with our group classes we also cover socialisation and working with distractions when applicable.
